Pre-2011 facelift (ie 60 reg) will have a 2.2litre diesel engine producing 160 bhp while the post 2011 facelift has a 2.2 litre diesel producing 150 bhp.

Yes I have heard comments to the effect that the newer ones are not so good at towing caravans etc. |

Whoever told you that was wrong, torque rose from 400 nM to 420 nM for the post preface models so pound for pound it will have no less grunt at the bottom end. Power is only noticeable further up the rev band and that's not where we tow. |
