the guy who looked at it said he cleared all errors three times and it keeps saying g sensor fault, but in the past they have had cars that after the g sensor has been replaced it then shows the ecu fault.

I met similar problem recently. First time, the dealer told me there was a short in rear module, then they changed the rear module. The warning light turned off and it seemed to work. But the new module wants to be burned again, so they found there was also a short in rear pump and it should be replaced as well. My AWD is not working right now, and my LR2 is still in dealer as the extended warranty wants to have a inspection of my car. The total cost is over $3000. I feel so sad. |

the thing I don't agree with is the way you get told the computer says this part is faulty, its x£ to fix but it might be something else, but once the new part is fitted and if the fault is still there it cant be removed, why cant it be removed and the old good part refitted and just pay the labour cost as the original part is ok.

Regarding puting a part on and removing it, I was told when a dealer orders a part and fits it the parts supply people won't accept it as a return as it's used. Therefore the dealer will have to pay for it and have it sitting on a parts shelf hoping someone else needs it.

I see your point Nick, but in this day and age when you plug into the system and get a fault code, to then go down the "we'll try this first to see if it fixes it" and just add to the customers bill if it doesn't is not progression. |
