dash warning lights on like xmas tree

driving in lashing rain on the motorway on sunday and the dash lit up with warning lights, abs, traction control, all terrain not functioning.pulled over turned off engine then restarted and all go out except all terrain not functioning.into dealer to have diagnostics done and its come back g sensor faulty, situated in the middle of the car £400 fitted.the kicker is they have said when fitted if the fault code still shows it will also be the suspension ecu which will be about £2000 extra.
so I have to wait until tomorrow to get the result of fix one before I know if I need gas and air and a visit to the bank manager.
the car has done 20k and is 4 years old, never been off road or abused in any way, think its poor at this milage.

Suspension ECU ?? There is no such thing on FL2.

I didn't see until now a faulty "G sensor" (Yaw rate sensor).
And such errors could be very well generated by a faulty connection on a wheel sensor. This, yes, I've saw malfunctioning, especially you said was raining...

Maybe it is time for a second opinion/garage ?...
Start a diagnostic session, erase all errors, take the car for a spin and then re-read the errors.

the guy who looked at it said he cleared all errors three times and it keeps saying g sensor fault, but in the past they have had cars that after the g sensor has been replaced it then shows the ecu fault.
fingers crossed its the g sensor

I met similar problem recently. First time, the dealer told me there was a short in rear module, then they changed the rear module. The warning light turned off and it seemed to work. But the new module wants to be burned again, so they found there was also a short in rear pump and it should be replaced as well. My AWD is not working right now, and my LR2 is still in dealer as the extended warranty wants to have a inspection of my car. The total cost is over $3000. I feel so sad.

the thing I don't agree with is the way you get told the computer says this part is faulty, its x£ to fix but it might be something else, but once the new part is fitted and if the fault is still there it cant be removed, why cant it be removed and the old good part refitted and just pay the labour cost as the original part is ok.
when I asked the question I was told that's the way the system works.

As I've said, get a second opinion.
As your warranty expired, you aren't anymore forced to use the main dealer, you can use whatever garage you want.

Regarding puting a part on and removing it, I was told when a dealer orders a part and fits it the parts supply people won't accept it as a return as it's used. Therefore the dealer will have to pay for it and have it sitting on a parts shelf hoping someone else needs it.

Obviously parts can cost a fair bit so you can see why they wouldn't do this, and they are legally unable to sell it as new if it's been used. Aswell some modules are coded as soon as you put them on

I see your point Nick, but in this day and age when you plug into the system and get a fault code, to then go down the "we'll try this first to see if it fixes it" and just add to the customers bill if it doesn't is not progression.

Agree with ad23345456 advice. PM Mike at L/R customer service Thumbs Up
Unfortunately, diagnostics don't always reveal exactly where the fault is. A high resistance connector can flag up as a sensor fault.
Yaw Rate sensors ain't cheap either Big Cry
Even much worse are ABS ECU (not suspension as Alex rightly pointed out) Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
