freelander 2 tailgate

Anyone had a problem with their freelander2 tailgate unlocking by itself and leaving light on ? Anyone know the fix please ?

Just to add balance - no problems with tailgate lock in over 4yrs of ownership from new Smile

You possibly don't get the horrid corrosive atmosphere as in the UK Laughing
Having said that, mine lasted almost 5 years.

Mine was playing up yesterday, so I was all prepared to work on it today.

But as usual with Land Rovers it is as right as rain today! 1998 300TDi Auto Disco, never to be forgotten.

Yes just done mine. The problem in the small micro switch corroding inside. I got a complete unit from LR and fitted it in about an hour. Most difficult part is removing and replacing the tailgate internal trim.
