Dull Sat Nav Screen

Occassionally, upon starting the engine the Sat Nav screen is very dull and hardly readible. After a minute or so it brightens up back to normal, any ideas?? Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

I too have had this and had my dealers look at it as I wasn't happy at not been able to use the satnav until it became visable.

They beleived it was the LCD crystals been cold and had to warm a little to make it visable.

I have resently had a new screen put in due to another problem and it still is the same with this one.

I think it could be linked to the auto dimming side of it as it is a brighter is your have it set to manual in the setting, but is still dimmer on start up

Bascally we have to live with it Sad Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

maybe that little tray in front of the screen is there to put a couple of candles to warm it up a little quicker?? Very Happy Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

Norway 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

It is quite normal for the screen to be dull when cold. I think I even read that also in the navigation handbook a while ago Question During the winter (Norwegian temperatures) it normally takes a few minutes to "warm up" when the screen is then quite normal – so no worries Rolling Eyes 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
