Electric door windows

Hello all, bit of a puzzle, my drivers and both rear passenger door windows have stopped working as has the door mirrors adjustment. However, my front passenger window button does work. I have checked the fuses and they are fine. Any ideas?

*UPDATE*

Noticed my intrior lights were not working, found the fuse, changed that as it had blown, and hey presto, every thing now works. This is strange as the windows / doors are on a different fuse?

It's the way the control system works for the electric windows, the main fuses for the windows are in the boot.

I had major issues of fuse blowing for interior lights, turned out it was the footwell light on drivers side rubbing against the steering collum. Every time you turn the wheel it rubbed against the live, drove me mad as I did not know what it was for ages. Maybe worth a check if you have footwell lights

Every circuit installed for a given car will be worked out on load. Electric window motors will need more currant to operate than lets say the door locking unit. For this reason different size cables are used to supply the needed currant and as the fuse is the weakest link it has to be able to carry enough currant to do the job but be rated low enough to blow should the currant "load" start to increase above the rated currant for the cable.
For this reason the fuse will blow, protecting the wiring thermal damage and or a electrical fire.

Old thread I realise, but I posted here to try and keep information together....

Can someone point me in the right direction for the fuse for the electric windows?

Read the manual about 3 times, and unless I'm staring at it, I can't see an entry for "electric windows"?

In the recent cold weather, the windows froze closed - I made the mistake of trying to open the front two windows, and the ice obstructed them so they only open an inch or so now.

Tried the "windows reset" technique, but that didn't really work because that assumed the windows are stuck open - whereas mine are stuck closed....

So - wanted to pop the fuse to the windows to clear everything, but can't find the fuse......

Ah.....ok.

So the drivers electric windows and the passenger electric windows are on separate fuses?

To be honest mate, I have no idea, but that was the only fuse that seemed relevant.
Why not just disconnect the battery.

Did you try this from the handbook;

Anti-trap protection will stop window or
sunroof movement if an obstruction or
resistance is detected. Check the window or
sunroof and its aperture and remove any
obstructions (e.g. ice, etc.).
If it is still necessary to raise the window or
close the sunroof, the override procedure is as
follows:
1. Attempt to close the window/sunroof,
anti-trap will prevent closure and lower the
window/open the sunroof slightly.
2. Within ten seconds attempt to raise the
window/close the sunroof again, anti-trap
will prevent closure and lower the
window/open the sunroof slightly.
3. Attempt to close the window/sunroof for a
third time, this time hold the switch in the close position until closed.

choccymonster, if you do decide to disconnect the battery you the only things you'll need to do after reconnecting the battery is to reset the clock and reset the electric windows so they one-touch close as detailed in the manual. The only other thing I have found that has changed after reconnecting is that all the trip computer records have reset.

HTH.
