I can think of someone else who had a crash, rear ended by a vehicle travelling well above 70mph. If the wife sells the car (I would have to be dead at this point) she won't be telling anyone it's had a crash, unless of course the buyer specifically asks
Any way to the point, I was stationary and hit in the rear hard, no airbags deployed, crash sensor went off, can't remember if the engine ever stopped, but it certainly started and ran normally. Reset the crash sensor 6 months later. so best guess is the crash error doesn't permenantly stop the engine. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

My FL is a 2010GS pre facelift; the engine I bought was a 'test' engine, (from where and why I don't know). The test emgine was dated 2009 but was the later spec engine with bigger water cooled turbo, intake without flaps, later EGR etc; I surmise it might have been a 190 development engine. All the labels stated Landrover. The engine harness and crank sensor and reluctor were just that bit different and not interchangeable. My guess is that there must be different part numbers for different vin nos / years.
Might be worth looking at a decent spares shop and comparing part numbers for Peugeot / Citroen 2.2 diesel DW12 varients as this is the base engine and parts most probably will be cheaper.
