Help please, dead engine on highway

Hi guys. I'm new member in this forum with serious problem. Have some 22TD4, with manual gearbox and start/stop system. My engine stops today on the middle of highway bridge (without emergency line) without any warning, strange noises and etc. Just DCS warning light and temperature indicator sky high in a second. Engine had normal working temp. But now is impossible to start engine again. No any sound. Electronic problem? First LR service is about 200 miles away. Any similar experiences and any suggestion??
Thx

That's a new one on me. When they stop suddenly there's usually lots of noise, smoke and chaos.

Wondering if it's a simple electrical problem or fuel pump failure.... All of the failure modes I can think of suggest something relatively minor but important. 2011 MY SD4 HSE + planning some interesting stuff

I wonder if its something as simple as the earth lead that's broken? Do things like lights and windscreen wipers work etc or are all electrical systems dead? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

All secondary systems looks OK. Wipers, windows, heating, lights works perfectly, but imposible to start engine. No any sound or intention to start. Just DSC light warning and temperature high on cold engine. No computer info except open engine comparment. Batteries are OK. Also imposible to connect ECU with some generic diagnostic units. Just no communication. Do you know some possibility to reset electronics to try start angine again?

There are some idea that ECU lost power (like on Citroen models) with same results. Water temp sensor have been changed buth nothing happens. There are som blocade that prevents engine start.

Sounds like an ECU or wiring loom failure. Check fuses for ECU, 12v power at connectors, continuity of can bus, fault codes from other ECUs that might indicate Comms failure.

Now my service guys completed examination and result is that some animal cut or eat parts of wires between ECU and sensors. Result was short circuit and engine stops. For now I dont know if any of moduls in ECU are still intact but this explain mulfunction also with conecting diagnostic comp. with ECU. If I can get some photos I will post it here.
Thx Andy. Your opinion was good. Smile))

That must be some animal! Beavers? Bears? Squirrels? Or just a rat?
