I contacted the seller. Here's his reply. Laughing

Hi,

I advertised the Land Rover for my sister-in-law so for more info please contact her directly at barrett****@gmail.com , she can give you all the details that you need. I only know that the car has 21250 miles and 1 previous owner.
Thanks and good luck.

Yer, right. Shall I bring the cash with me when I come to look at it? Rolling with laughter

Please, clarify for me as I can't get the grasp of it...
Which is the problem?
The price? The looks? The mileage?

They lure you into a sale and at the last minute they have a change of plan, you end up sucked into a sob story and pay for the car which never arrives, similar scams have been documented on here previously, as they say if it sounds yo good yo be true, it probably is.

How can you pay for a car without seeing and/or touch it?
How gullible could one be in order to do this?

Because it's such a bargain! You'd be surprised at how gullible some people can be when they think they are getting a bargain. Here's a few examples of those that have lost far more than the price of that car for sale. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics...ricks.html Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Aaaand, here's the sob story:

Hi and sorry for the late reply. Currently I am in Rennes, France with my husband for an urgent throat surgery and for safety I left it closed in my garage in Caernarfon, LL55 1LP.
This is the main reason for selling the car, we might need the extra money for surgery and recovery.
I will let it go for £13600.
The car has 21250 miles, 2 owners.
There is no outstanding finance (HPI cleared) and it has not been involved in any accident.
Everything is in perfect working condition (engine, electrics, etc), all documents are in order, full service history, mot and tax until april 2014 (FUNNY THAT, THE DVLA SHOWS IT BEING TAXED UNTIL NOV 2014). I've attached some extra pictures. Email me back if you are still interested.
Thank you

Anyone want to grab a bargain from a sick woman? I mean a real bargain because entering the numberplate into webuyanycar.com shows that even they will pay £20,455 for it. Whistle Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Here's how.

Hi Steve,

Normally I prefer cash sales too but because I'm in France the only option to close the deal is through eBay, is safer for everyone. You'll send the money to eBay and after they confirm me that they have your money in their account, I will purchase a next day plane ticket and you can come and pick up the car from me directly or i will deliver it personally to you. Everything is covered by eBay, they will keep your money secured during the inspection period. This purchase protection guarantees that the car is exactly as I described it, you'll have 5 days to inspect it and if you decide not to keep it you will get refunded immediately. I will get paid only after you confirm that everything it's I described it.
In order to start the transaction please confirm your full address where you want to receive the car.

Thank you

So, I send the money to ebay, she flies home the very next day (disregarding her throat surgery operation and convalesence), opens up her garage and gives the car to me.

Anyone fancy having a go at that? Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
