Bits and Bobs waiting to go on

Bought a few bits and bobs the past few weeks to add to the extensive bits I have already added the my freely...

Got myself a new surround, lower mirror covers, under shield, and side mouldings - but need to do a few modifications before I add it all on

Side mouldings will be with me Monday

Here is a few of my Options, all feedback is welcome Laughing

SURROUND..
Given my self 2 options with the surround, as you all know Mav did this Mod but didn't look right without the 2013 headlights
Option 1 - do the black on the surround in titanium same colour as mine is now (titanium)
Option 2 - remove the lenses from my headlights and spray the grey parts black...
I need to give this a bit of thought
But if I do do the mod with the lights ill post a step by step in removing the lenses Wink

UNDER SHIELD.
Keep it chrome or get it sprayed/wrapped satin chrome same as side vents and wheels and while im at it do the chrome strip on my tailgate handle

LOWER CHROME MIRROR BEZELS..
I have top half colour coded Stornoway ones fitted already, Fitting the lower ones as they are is a No No!!
So they will be sprayed either Black or satin chrome same as side vents - Im heading more towards Black

SIDE MOULDINGS..
Option 1 - Keep them as they are in the original Black
Option 2 - Get them sprayed in Stornaway so there colour coded - the only downfall with that is, the purpose of having side moulings is to stop dings so if I get them colour coded ill end up with side mouldings with dings in em Rolling Eyes

Anyway I thought ill let you know what's on the horizon Rolling with laughter BETTER looking half of the famous Twinlanders

Here are my thoughts :-

Paint the new grill surround body colour with the 2013MY style trim kept in the high power silver.

Don't even think about fitting the lower covers

Leave the lower front bumper trim chrome

Leave the door mouldings in their normal black plastic. I have seen them painted, and they do look good. Until someone doors them and then the paint comes off. They are there for protection after all. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Sounds like your way would save me a lot of work Mav

Did my old surround colour coded and it never looked right for some reason
so I might go with the same colour as mine is now... BETTER looking half of the famous Twinlanders

No comment on the chrome.
Door mouldings, don't paint them, leave them as is, as Mav has said, if someone hits them, they then mark/chip it will look worse. Thumbs Up p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Surround - keep as is - one days you'll get the 2013 headlamps Thumbs Up

Lower wing mirror caps - you should have mentioned that you have only got these to hide the big scratch your Mrs left you Whistle I would paint them matt black or as close as you can get to the current wing mirror

Chrome undershield - I would leave this untouched, although I do quite like the sound of it being sprayed to match the side vents - would be a nice alternative... but then you might as well just spray what's there and re-sell the undershield Laughing

Side mouldings - re-sell back on ebay - I get what they are for but personally I think they ruin the entire look of the car.

Obviously just my opinion.. but then you did ask for it Wink The BEST looking half of the famous Twinlanders Ner Ner

Thanks Chris and carrie Thumbs Up
Yeah I'm happy with the way the surround came out Very Happy needed a little work to get it to look like it does, had a few holes and digs on it .... Managed to get the silver inlay off and heat clip it back on with no trouble - I'm chuffed with the finished look..
I'll get my bumper off next weekend and get it fitted along with the side door mouldings (sorry Rob there going on mate) Laughing

nephew keeps asking me what I want for Christmas so I'm debating on sidesteps Whistle BETTER looking half of the famous Twinlanders
