Wheel Alignment Caster

Hey all,

Whilst having a puncture repaired, I got all four wheels balanced and aligned a few weeks ago.

Since then it has felt like the wheel alignment was drifting out more each day with severe pull to the right particularly at slow speed or incredibly so when reversing.

I reported this to the Bridgestone shop and was due to take it in this coming Monday for a re-check but noticed the front right looking incredibly flat today.

I popped into the Bridgestone shop today and they fixed a puncture on the front right and checked the alignment while I was there (although they stated the slow puncture was probably the reason for the pull).

The puncture repair did indeed fix the majority of the pull and it drives much better now, but the mechanics did report that the caster value was opposite to what they would expect for a country where we drive on the left. The problem is, they said the caster can't be adjusted.

For the values, I have:

LH 2 deg, 31 min
RH 3 deg, 20 min

Has anybody else heard of the caster on the FL2 not being adjustable? As I said, there is minimal pull now, mainly just when accelerating away from a stand-still.

Cheers,
Whytey 1st time FL2 owner. 2007 SE i6 in Tambora Flame.

I don't know anything about the caster problem but in your case I should strongly suspect that whoever did your recent wheel balancing/alignment hasn't got it quite right.

It just seems too much of a coincidence that you have noticed a steering pull that wasn't there before, immediately following work being done to supposedly align the wheels. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

As already said caster is none adjustable so it makes no sense also as said you would think the readings would be the other way round (RH/LH) if the caster was causing the problem

strange one

Think if is was me I would maybe try swopping the front wheels round just to eliminate a tyre problem, worth a try if nothing else
