Either that or someone from LR is secretly adding fuel to our cars so we post happy figures on this forum?

Yes that's what I thought, but I've noticed an improvment during this recent warm spell. I don't really like to quote on short journies, but I will, last week on a 160 trip I got 44.8mpg, I was gob smacked!!! OK that's what the computer said, and there's always room for some error there, though over a period of time and high miles you do get a feel for these things. My miles are sitting at 36.5k since new and my mpg is at 37.2 over that period, that's calculated on miles travelled according to the car and fuel added according to the pump (Tesco for the most part!!) For the mies travlled that includes a number of off road 'outings' the best part of 2k towing the caravan (sorry CG) so all in all that's not too bad. |

TopTrumps - try reseting your mpg before starting off on a journey, it may not be moving much because it is calculating your miles over a longer distance otherwise!

Are any of you driving the USA version of this car? I can't get the damn thing to go above 13mpg for anything. I have tried and tried and the only way to make it go above that is if I go on a long trip on the highway. |

Thats why no-one in the UK drives the 3.2 petol version. With high fuel prices over here nobody could afford to run one. Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black Gone - 2014 BMW X3 M Sport Space Grey, faultless! Gone - 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Bali Blue with xenons Gone - 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Rimini Red with bodykit |

On the subject of the Auto, I did an Land Rover Experience half day this week in an identical Auto to mine, the instructor was when I told him I was getting about 30MPG, said I should be seeing 35-40 advised me to use command shift & shift up earlier. It was only a few days ago but I'm now seeing 33-35MPG, did see 40+ on a 30 mile countryside trip, in very warm weather.
