Talking of privacy glass....

Despite getting a brilliant deal at Charles Hurst Land Rover for an ex-manager's car (never raced or rallied!) alas, my black beauty does not have privacy glass. I have three weeks to make a decision - to fit the film or not. In the opinion of you hardened FL2 owners, is it worth having the film fitted? My main concern is that when we go away on trips we put our mountain bikes and stuff in the back and I worry that if I scratch it.....thoughts anyone?

Thanks a lot.

go for the film

Your windows are at the same height as a thieving scroates vision and anything you can do to preventing them seeing in it good

You can always buy a boot bag for £50 and keep all the MTB mud in that too instead of the interior fabric/leather Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I've had a couple of my motors tinted with the film....if its done properly, it can be VERY good....but it HAS to be done properly!.

I checked out several places, looked at examples of their work (Some of which were shockinginly BAD!, including the ones in the RIPSPEED showroom), before going to Pentagon auto-tint (Before they allowed francies's, so I dont know what they would be like). '57 FL2 GS

I have had my xs done and it looks really good, I use a company in Denbigh, North Wales, Garry at rcs Tinting, ( www.rcstinting.co.uk) he has done several vehicles for me and there is a pic of the FL2 on his web site. Every time I have had a very good job and no problems after.

I've got a black FL2 and have had only the rear hatch and the rearmost windows (ie behind the C-pillars) done, not the back doors. To my eye it looks a whole lot better than the factory default tinting as it doesn't look like an afterthought.

Where is the cross bar on the roof rails? Mine has a bar at the back?

Go for the film - looks better than none imho!

I did my own and looks ok from a distance but going to get it re-done professionaly when the weather improves Thumbs Up

I must say the rear only tints do look good a bit less van like, but I got mine tinted mainly for the little one when it arrives, so doors done too At work

Cross beam? Er, I removed it...

It was whistling - I'd already had the non-sunroof version and swapped it for the correct one but that still whistled, albeit a lot, lot less. With it removed, it's fine.

I suspect that the cross beam may have needed a bit of 'tuning' as it was at a slight angle, but given I've not put anything on the roof so far, I couldn't be bothered setting it, testing it, setting it, testing it etc. No doubt if I want to carry anything I'll put it back, but for the meantime it can stay as it is Smile
