beeping on engine start

Hi All, be grateful if anyone could shed some light on the following:

My first FL2 (08 HSE Auto 2.2) - on engine start there are a series of loud beeps, approx. 12 beeps, then it stops. No warning lights on the dash staying on. Any thoughts?

Cheers

No, all the doors/tailgate are defo shut. There is def. 12 beeps, sounds like its coming from the front passenger door, but could be left side anywhere I guess

Guess it might be related to parking sensors. A couple of times I've had a continuous high pitched tone when selecting reverse which I have just read in the owners manual is a System Fault on the parking aid (have only had the car since yesterday). Whether the two are related or not though.....

Switch off the parking sensors and see if it makes a difference
5 switches just below the satnav - it's the far left switch with the letter P on it
Depending what freely you have??
2010 on it will be on the right BETTER looking half of the famous Twinlanders

Hi Slaneydore, It's an '08 HSE auto 2.2 I've tried pressing the P button whilst its beeping, no difference. The beeping stops at the moment the sat nav screen comes on. Its weird, it sounds like its coming from low down from the passenger seat/centre pillar area???

Just thought, are you saying the sensors can be permanently switched off? If so how do you do it?

Sounds like a problem with the disc reader for the sat nav, it's located under the passenger seat, maybe try cleaning the disc/check that's it's a genuine one?

Nope, not the disc reader. My dvd player is under the drivers seat & the beeping is still there with the disc in/out/cleaned & back in. The beeping starts the instant the start button is pushed. Hmmmm. Can see this ending up in a trip to Main Dealer
