I have had a look in the manual for tyre pressures but it just refers you to the sticker on the door.
which give one value only. Can i assume you do not have to increase the pressure when towing with a FL the car is a GS with standare rims and tyres and a pressure of 32 psi You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

As the FL2 is an all-terrain vehicle, the distance between rear wheels and towing hook is very short compared with "normal" cars. Therefore towing causes a much lower extra pressure on the tires and consequently no need for higher air pressure.

I got on to landrover technical department about this a year ago and they confirmed that the tyre pressures remain the same

Agreed, I do exactly the same.

Was very pleased to find that tyre pressures remain th same when towing, saves all that messing about with a pump when we've got the (shhhhh..... caravan!) on the back.

We tow a 1450kg .... eh ..hem ... trailer, have covered several hundred miles over a number of outings, absoutely fine following the instructions i.e. no change.

Stop mentioning me everytime c vans are discussed. Its a free country, tow a van if you must, just expect a bit of backlash from us normals. One solution is to allow us to overtake once in while, so we can move on and forget why we hate c vans so much

You wont be held up by me!!!

But do remember that there are different speed limits when towing. If I've got the white box on the back I'm limited to 50mph on single carriageway roads, thats the law. However within the confines of the law I will not hold you up, and since I do use my mirrors if I notice any sort of a tail back then I'll be out of your way and let you pass. The flip side is that when towing the 'shed' the sort of stunts that some driver pull in order to overtake are quite extraordinary (and unnecessary), to the point of being life threatening. Having defended my own actions I have to admit that some shed-tuggers are not too skilled and less than considerate, and I'm as vocal as you in my criticism, but we're not all that bad !! (thinks, tar-brush-people-the-same-all-don't)

You'll probably be even more frustrated if I'm in the 'other' trailer towing vehicle I drive. A 38,000 litre fuel tanker, restricted to 40 mph on single carriageway roads.......

Going back to tyre pressures this is the first car I have had that you don't have to increase the tyre pressures when the car is fully laden. On top of that the caravan adds another 100kg noseweight onto the towing bracket.
For those people who have read page 16 of the url I posted earlier they will have seen that the tyre pressure increases with the load it is expected to carry (obviously up to a maximum for a given tyre).
I do wonder if the information on tyre pressures from Land Rover is correct, as it doesn't follow this rule.

Hi, i'm new here took delivery of 08 GS two weeks ago and enjoying every minute

Have owned Citroens in the past and they never required an increase in pressures when loaded or towing. The advice in the Caravan Club book will only be general advice. Having towed over Easter in the high winds I did not encounter any problems, as steady as a rock at 60 mph. I must admit it is nice not having to keep adjusting pressures, another plus point for Freelander 2.
