United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Sumatra Black

I am test driving a TDV4 HSE tomorrow in Bradford. Just sold my RRS this morning (gutted!). I will be accompanied but will make sure I get to drive on the Motorway and some country roads too... I'm going to go for a used FL2 as have taken a big hit on my RRS - bought it from new.

Do Freelanders have sidesteps? Sorry of that's a dumb question! Confused

Hi Boolia

Good to hear your having a look at the FL2, is it the Auto or Manual?

You can have side steps on the FL2, though they are not as hidden when the doors are shut like on the RRS

I found been 6'3" i didn't use the steps on a courtesy car i had with them and found the got in the way (stepping in from further out) and opted for tubes instead.

I cope with my car ok, with the pram and everything else in there is not too much room in the boot, but there is enough Thumbs Up

Is there any others you have short listed to have a test drive, other members have driven lot of different one and would give you the honest opinion. Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

That's the only one so far.... It's an 07 and has privacy glass and tubes on it, does look really nice. I take it you can't stand on the tubes?

I'm sure it'll be a good car, justhurts tohand over the RRS! Sad

Your correct in saying you can't stand on the tubes

Don't get me wrong lots don't mind the steps, the wife and her nanna prefered them as it made hopping and out in easier.

Your dealer might have a car in so you can see the steps on and try them out for fit

Have a look at the photos below, they give a idea on the step look compared to the tubes
