DIY Window Tinting Kits

There are quite few DIY window tinting kits in the market. Has anyone used these kits to tint their car windows. If yes was it successful and would you recomend it. How easy is it to remove the tint once installed if you make a mistake fitting it?
Interested to hear anyones views on the subject good or bad.

Dont do it!!!!

you would think that with a defender all having flat glass that it would be childs play!, I watched all the tutorials, spent some decent money on quality tint and got to work on the car.

It took me around 3 and a half hours to pretty much produce an effort that could be interpreted as that of "modern art" or an effort of a 5 year old. Every imperfection in the glass became realized and not one window had tint all the way to every edge. From the outside it didnt look too bad, from the inside you could see how much of a disaster it really was though Rolling with laughter

Spend time being happy instead and pay some other poor sod to do it.

I tried it just the once, years ago. I peeled the backing off and it was immediately drawn to my body like a magnet. I screwed it into a ball and gave up there and then. I can laugh about it now but I can remember being really hacked off at the time. Laughing Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

I have used tinting film on house windows and believe me that is bl88dy difficult so as he says above DON'T do it! I got my FL2 tinted to factory spec by the guys who work for all the local LR/RR dealers for less than 200 notes. eh tu?

Looks simple on you tube but will take the advice of fellow posters and let the professionals do it.
