Side tubes with steps

Contemplating a set of the side tubes with the steps as below.

Any one else fitted them? Opinions?

I bought a set of the full side steps for my new-to-me 08 HSE, but I'm not so sure about them now, and think the tubes would be a bit less obtrusive, and easier to get in and out if you don't need a step.....

SIDE TUBES

Had set of side tubes on first fl2, thought they looked good ...but with all the snow and ice mud and sheep sh*t where i live , forever having to get the pressure washer out, to get at the brackets, also stopped me from getting a really good spray on the sills,

went for the clean look on second fl2 sd4 and MORE ground clearance
(the local car wash guys appreciate it as well, now get a free air cleaner smelly as they have less sh*ty job to do ..!)

If you live in the city no probs I guess ,BUT if you need the extra ground clearance IMHO forget them ..

Thud(looking to see if all the mud off the brackets of the tubes /sidesteps )

Were the mud is thicker, and the ruts are deeper.
(And we have the water to wash it off, and more on the way..! )

All side steps look awful, but I suppose these look slightly less awful than full-size ones!

Mudslinger's right about both mud and ground clearance, and I'm also told that muddy steps are ideally placed to deposit their mud all over your trousers/legs as you get out of the car.

Not for me...

i have the balck side tubes, i think it fills a gap in between the tyres nicely

i don't like the ones you have pictured though, either go for tubes or go for steps

never had a problem with my tubes dirtying the trousers, but the daughters knee high white school sock have had a mark or two when she has slide down out of the car Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
