Smell from front

Yesterday i had a quick drive (3-4 miles) and noticed a slight odour in the cabin. When i parked in the garage and walked to the front to close the garage door i stood close to the grill and noticed a sweaty socks smell comming from this area?
No leaks, steam, etc and nothing looks to be trapped in there?
I'm guessing it could be the air con needs cleaning through? any more ideas?

I wouldn't particularly expect to smell the aircon outside by the grille.

Possibly a dead bird or animal in the engine bay? I had that once - a bird of some kind dead in the bottom of the engine bay (not on the FL2). When I tried to remove it its head came off and maggots spilled out. Nice.

Well garage had the front bumper off a couple of weeks ago to repaint it so i think they would have seen something in there?
Hate buying a new car and having to solve "issues" - apart from fitting accessories i hoped it would be a wash and drive car

I'll have a closer look tommorow when i'm hung over Wink

Hi Rob
My guess would be aircon needs a clean through, which would explain the smell in the cabin. Unusual to smell it outside the car, but did the condensation drips underneath smell ?
Also worth checking passenger footwell for damp carpet as aircon drain pipe is easily displaced. _________________

No point in cleaning the Air Con unless you change the Pollen Filter. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Thanks guys - i'm ordering a new pollen filter along with air filter as the dealer didn't change these on the "full service" when i bought the car?
I don't use the air-con so wont have the drips - econ is off isn't it?
No dampness under carpets so that's good

You need to use the Air Con regularly to keep the seals intact. Once a week or so will keep it working. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior
