United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Bali Blue

Wot a Censored !

Hard to call, I would have probably have done exactly the same as you as it 'looks' like they are about to turn right without indicating however in the eyes of the law i guess they would say that as there was no indication there was no reason to believe the vehicle was turning right thus its your own fault.

I'm still pursuing North Wales Police for the damage caused to my alloy wheel when a 6 inch high rock refused to pull out of the way when i accidently ventured down a single 'not even wide enough for a FL2' track road some months ago Twisted Evil Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

i would report it, try and seek her detail/insurance company details and claim off her insurance for any damaged caused

There was no sneaking, you went to go in to the open near side lane as she had pulled into the right turn lane

Obviously if there is no damage, then nothing to do with police, they wouldn't pursue it anyway Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I was once told by the police that a flashing indicator only shows that the bulb is working.

Well the insurance company are a bunch of c Censored ts

Reported to them and they kept trying to get me to accept liability, and they are not interested in the footage at this stage! It could be a split liability job, which I said no chance! They were unaware of such equipment fitted to cars and how it was recorded.

They also said I would have to pay for the excess which is £200, the cost of repair to wheel is £150 or a new wheel at the worse.

What a complete faff, but I am not leaving my wheel damaged, it's looks gash

Whaaat? Any insurance worth their salt would know about these cameras by now, surely.
Unfortunately no one knows how good or bad their insurance company are until they are needed.

My take on it, is that they changed direction in such a manner that they should have looked for any traffic first.
Just lucky no one was on the path at the time else your instinct would have been much different and a collision would have been inevitable.

Unfortunately, as it is, I fear it would cost much more money if you persue it further.

Obviously not worth claiming on the insurance either.

So a few weeks on, all sorted! The police visited this lady, showed her the footage and she agreed to pay for the damage to my wheel. £120 for the repair, happy days. The £18 I paid for the dash camera was well worth it indeedy!

Landy, good result with the camera. What camera have you got? Also, in a previous thread you said you shouted out the VRN, is the camera not clear enough to pick out the VRN?? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

It's a cheap one off ebay, £18. It generally won't get the VRN due to bad quality. But the audio works fine
