Because it's a fully synthetic PAS fluid, filled for life.
As for equivalences, I've tried to point out a document here... http://www.freel2.com/forum/post126447.html#126447

Would it be easier to get a litre of PAS fluid from the nearest main dealer (Part Number LR003401 I think).
My dealer did me a good price on 5 Ltrs of Land Rover Branded MTF94 Gearbox Oil for my old FL1 TD4 a while ago. Saved me searching for an equivalent oil locally (I don't trust some of the so called cross reference guides in the high street motorparts shops).

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Zermatt Silver

Fitted a new reservoir with new fluid which was LR003401, £7 per litre.
LR recommend Pentosin CHF202 in the car manual so assume the LR003401 is Pentosin.
I am not sure it is Pentosin as this on the open market is £14-15 per litre.
LR supplied fluid is either a good price for Pentosin or it is not Pentosin. Confused!! Freelander 2 2007 TD4 HSE auto
