Pretty impressive, which camera have you got? Yes, I know it's Nikon Laughing
Dull and overcast here most the day, mist is already coming back down, might get up early and have a look, sometimes goes right past and leaves us on top.

hi

its a Nikon D3200 with a 18-55mm and 70-300mm lenses, the jack up rig is a easy 5 miles plus offshore my estimate no way of knowing for sure, its just to far away for the lens to magnify 1995 P38 now dead

For a stock telecom 300 lens, that's pretty impressive, you have a good one there.
Been up that way on many a trip and seen the signs for Stonehaven, what have I missed, great spot to get some pics.

If the lens is the 70-300 VR, it is a cracking piece of glass and is good enough to use on top range full frame Nikon body's. If you are using the lens on the D3200 the focal length is equivalent to approx. 125-450mm

hi

its not a VR lens its a VC lens now that said i don't expect much difference just different manufactures wording that means the same thing

its a Tamron lens that i have, i think it offered better value for money compared to a genuine Nikon at a extra £140 notes

It still only has the reach of a 300 though, it is the field of view that is equivalent to 450, the actual size of the object remains the same, just in a smaller frame.
Agree though that it is a great lens looking at those pics.

Big Al,
Are you using Capture NX2? Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

hi

sorry for taking so long getting back to you Pegleg had to go to that dreaded invention called work Big Cry

i am not using NX2 as its only if you are using RAW file format, i just use the camera in JPEG rather than RAW saves time converting but its each to there own 1995 P38 now dead
