2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Santorini Black
Has anyone been to wild tracks ?

Wild tracks £30 for whole day take your freelander 2 ? Sounds good but wondered if anyone has been? When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car

Have a look at http://lroac.com/Calendar.html

The LRO driver training day uses the LR Experience tracks at Rockingham Castle and a LRE instructor is on hand to provide advice, tips and training.

Yarwell Quarry is near Wansford on the A1 and is used by the Peterborough LRO Show for its off road driving and can be as hard or soft as you want in terms of offroading but if you haven't been before try and go with someone who has.

From my experience over the years of pay and play sites, you would not want to take a Freelander anywhere near one. Too many Censored in £50 Fronteras and the like flying around( sometimes literally) and lots of ruts that even a standard Defender would get hooked up on. If you don't have rigger boots, misspelt tattoos and possibly a wolf themed fleece you are considered too posh , so you can imagine how welcome 'plastic' Land Rovers would be!
Green laning is free and civilised plus any potential damage is entirely under your control. 2007 Freelander 2 2.2TD4 HSE manual (Hers)

That doesn't seem fair, time to find a 300Tdi
Range Rover for me !

My sentiments exactly, a £50 Frontera and a >£15,000 FL2 do not mix on these 'turn up and play' days. Wheels spinning, debris flying, full throttle to get over their 4 wheel drive inadequacies, nah not for me.
Now if they had 'posh' days and kept these 'ruffians' and their cars out Whistle Perhaps on a Sunday after church Laughing

If you go to a pay and play day at one of the LR Experience Centres you'll get a LRE Instructor leading the convoy of vehicles and talking you through each obstacle and if you don't like the look of a particular obstacle there is always an alternative route and LRE Freelanders will do the routes on a daily basis.

I'm not sure which LRE Centres do pay and play but I think Cheshire and East of England (Rockingham) do. As I posted previously have a look at www.lroac.com for dates at Rockingham.
