There is only one way a 20mph limit gets observed and that's when they install average speed cameras on the road. Works a treat in a couple of areas where this has been done a few miles from where I live and on motorway roadwork areas of course.
With no fear of prosecution the average (appalling) standard of driving will apply. On my road (30mph) cars have been clocked at over 70mph and 40mph to 50mph is a daily occurence. 2 schools on a suburban residential road but hey ho.
I'm all for sticking to the speed but my point is a lot of times you have to guess... imagine coming in from a 40 the some one in front sees a camera and does 20.... it happerns.

How many on here ( including adv cams ) see a camera and watch the speedo and not the road..... I bet quite a few even if they do not say so.

For my part I'm in the CBA catagory so tend to do the limit or a little less and when on the Mway cruise control it. Too old for the stress speed brings.

If its so dangerous they need to reduce speed to 20 mph,
then ban parking within the 20 mph limit?

the amout of "Yummy Mummies" who would park INSIDE the school door if they could is astonishing.

Near where I live they've put in what seems like 8 trillion speed humps to try and lower the speed limit around the schools.
As it happens, in a Freely, you can go over them at any speed and not notice. Wheelbase is just right. Mere mortals though have to slow down. I of course observe the limit as I am a caring individual, and more likely to be the one poor s*d who got caught. Rolling Eyes

The lower limit is there for a good reason; respect it.
For heaven's sake, guys, it doesn't matter what the others do. If it's a 20 limit then YOU stick to it. Take responsibility for your own actions and let others do the same.

We've had some so high round here that they had to lower them I kid you not.

Still I personally cant tell if they are speed humps or pot holes its that bad now.
