United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey
Bonnet Guard

Hi Guys,

Had freely 4 weeks almost and still doing things to it, Full Colour coded Mirror Covers are incoming and should be here in the next day or so.

I am also thinking of one of these http://www.4x4at.com/landrover-freelander-...bug-shield

I alway see trucks or Jap imports or US cars with them but have never seen one a FL2, do you think it would look stupid ? HSE TD4 Stornoway Grey ★ Rear Spoiler ★ Black Leather Interior ★ Panoramic Roof ★ Navigation with Bluetooth ★ 19 " Alloys ★ Alpine Stereo 10 Disc Auto changer and Ipod connection and lots of other nice toys ★

Depends if you like it or not......I personally don't think it suits the car and for £58 you can get a decent wax and bug remover that would take care of the whole car and any others at home? Decent wax would stop the bugs 'sticking' like plop to a blanket to some degree.

Each to their own though......if you want it, buy it Thumbs Up 2013 FL2 - Black Edition Auto

Personally, I don't see the point in it. As Jimski said, you could just buy some bug remover and have some spare cash left over.

Not my cup of tea, but go for it if you really want it. Thumbs Up

Ok I guess thats a Genaral no then Laughing

Slaneydore I saw the same one on Ebay.

I will think on it, I was thinking more about reducing the chance of stone chips on the Bonnet, I use Collonite 456 wax so not much bug wise tends to stick for long. HSE TD4 Stornoway Grey ★ Rear Spoiler ★ Black Leather Interior ★ Panoramic Roof ★ Navigation with Bluetooth ★ 19 " Alloys ★ Alpine Stereo 10 Disc Auto changer and Ipod connection and lots of other nice toys ★

Another something to think about..........clear protective vinyl....its something thats emerging over on detailingworld.com, probably been around for years but its UV stable, resists stone chips and you can still polish it with a glaze or wax?

I've seen whole Porsches wrapped in the clear, cant tell, but maybe worth see how much a bonnet wrap would be? 2013 FL2 - Black Edition Auto

Personally I think they look great got a genuine land rover one fitted to my freeladner 1 it came across from Australia as it's market specific! Over their bugs are easily 5 odd sizes bigger and make a mess of your windscreen! Seen allot of comments about buying bug spray yes which does work but has to be replaced once you have used the bottle! The bug guard on the other hand is for life (just don't slam the bonnet shut tho Rolling with laughter ). Also in Summer if your tearing along the country roads the bugs stick to guard and not the windscreen. You can't pull over halfway into your journey with bug spray to clean the windscreen can you ? Also what if you arrive back early morning after night driving you will be washing the car the next day with bugs baked onto the windscreen! If you had the guard they wipe of it easily. In fact Land Rover sell genuine ones for the disco 3 disco 4 and the full fat! Not seen them for the freelander 2, RRS, evoque or defender but I'm pretty sure they will do them for the full range. But they will be market specific. At the end of day we are all individuals it is what you want to have on your car! If we all had the same taste in life imagine how boring the world would be! Laughing

Jings! How feeble have Land Rovers become they need guards against bugs? Was a time one got guards against roos and that was all ever needed! Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!
