2014 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Firenze Red
Faulty Rear Wiper Motor same as Fiesta MK 6 ?

The Rear Wiper Motor has failed on my 2007 XS
have taken it to pieces and looks very rusty on the drive shaft from the Motor
Quoted 170 from LR who dont have any stock
Checking it seems that the unit from a Fiesta MK 6 is exactly the same
Can anyone confirm this
and they are only £25 online from a Breaker Freelander TD4 XS Zermatt Silver Sept 07. twin elec. LR tow bar, mudflaps.

Almost, but not quite but parts are the same.

let me know how you get on, my rear wiper stopped working the other day too, fuse is ok but haven't had time to check anything else yet.

United Kingdom 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Fuji White

The motor assemblies are similar but not interchangeable, although you can use the Fiesta one as a donor for parts. In my case the motor had burnt out due to rust clogging up the gearbox. Stripping, cleaning and re-greasing might be enough but you can mix & match the motor parts as required - the only part that isn't interchangeable is the main shaft which will usually be very rusty but useable with a bit of wire wool. Cheers,

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Sumatra Black

Thanks to this I have just fixed the rear wiper on my wife's freelander, I removed the old unit and found it to be full of black gunk! Which I believe was a mixture of water/dirt and grease, the shaft and the metal drive cog were all corroded and the plastic yellow gear was damaged where the motor had been trying to turn it but couldn't due to the rust and gunk!

I purchased a used wiper unit as suggested from eBay for £20! On inspection it was immaculate inside and the motor bushes were in near new condition, I used the motor and plastic gear cog from the fiesta unit and cleaned up and greased the remaining original parts and applied plenty of grease, re-fitted and it works perfectly....

The units are virtually identical apart from the freelander one has a longer shaft compared to the fiesta one
