Hi Lebouch, that will be because you have bought later model Focus lights! Equally I've done two and they were deeper than the recess in the LR part.

I've just fitted one to my 07MY and I had to trim inside like said earlier, the light was from a 98/04 year focus. |

Just bought a Mk3 Mondeo light from Mondeo Spares on e-bay, identical to the one currently in my MY11 freely, same Pt Number on it. Paid £13.98 inc postage, half the price people are charging for LR light listings. MY14 TD4 manual XS Orkney grey.

Looks very good. How did you wire those up PCHeaven? are they just paralleled from the existing boot light? any idea of the Maplin Pt Number. MY14 TD4 manual XS Orkney grey.

This is exactly what I was thinking with my 2014 as I miss the separate map lights from my Freebie Classic. Looks like it should be a straight plug-and-play job to upgrade it. Gordon Land Rover Defender XS Td5 DC | Argocat Magnum 8x8 | Land Rover Freelander 2 XS TD4 |

Yes it is straightforward Gordo, the Granada one I fitted has the same part number on it and it needs no extra connections. MY14 TD4 manual XS Orkney grey.

Yes it will be Westville, I then used the original single unit above the load space after buying an extra mount the same as the one above the rear seats, connected it in parallel to that one running the wires above the headlining. MY14 TD4 manual XS Orkney grey.

Looking at the options for improving the abysmal boot lighting and fitting the map light unit(*). What is the part number of the ford interior/map light that "just fits", no plastic clipping required? There are quite a few on eBay that look correct IE, rocker switch not slider, overall Fresnel diffuser with circular lenses(?) behind for the map lights not diagonal section ends, Trouble is the dates given are 2006 to 2010 or 2007 to 2014. The same part number appears in both date ranges. Needless to say the ones going up to 2014 are the more expensive ones and not a lot cheaper than new. Boot light, was half way through mounting a couple of LED lights http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IXOSA7A, with added diffusion behind the LED cover, on a nice bit of teak and fixing that to the roof lining were fredastaire has mounted a stock interior light. That does look very neat and as if its always been there by design. I have some reservations, single source in the middle, you'll shadow the boot if you lean in and the spread from the stock light isn't that good. Holding my little LED lights in place produces a good even level of light with only a little shadowing. The Ikea or Maplin led disc lights again neat but lack the "by design" aspect. My new bright idea, is to see if a couple of the oval the boot lights can be fitted into the plastic pillar covers. Snags I foresee: The pillar covers are too curved everywhere or if not there won't be enough depth behind. No nice bezel, if the pillar is flat there will be gaps, messy. The lights will be looking forward and glare in the rear view mirror, especially when fitted with LED bulbs. A tilt switch in the hatch so they only come on when the boot is opened or maybe one get at the "boot open" signal somewhere? Very similar looking light units are on ebay for Ford Galaxy, VW Sharan and Seat Alhambra, further research required. (*) Already done the foot wells, wiring and holders were in place. After boot and map lights the next challenge is the door puddle lights, blanking plate in door, no wiring from the door module, voltmeter on door module terminals doesn't show volts when I think they should be on. Going to talk to the stealers and see if the car needs to be told it has them and if so get them enabled and the mirror approach lights, Approach lights will need a bit more work as there is no blanking plate in the mirror undersides but the wiring is in the door to where the mirror mounts.
