Xenon auto levelling

I have adaptive xenons, they twitch left and right upon starting

Is there a way to test the self levelling side of things?

Not sure when it does level, at startup, or whilst driving, just felt a little low beam pattern the other night Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Perhaps have the lights on, aimed at a wall in the dark then with the tailgate up, get a few fatties to sit on the boot floor to load the rear suspension and see if the lights move? Or use the same method and drive the front or rear of the car up onto a couple of bricks and then observe the light position when you drive off of them? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

The self levellers don't actually work until the car is moving, so loading up the rear on the drive won't help.

Mine never used to go left to right Nick on start up. They never did anything. But they used to turn when on the move. There is a small motor inside the headlight that moves the lens left and right.

LR can check this though through a test. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Mine have always twitched left/right, when starting, especially notice it when i go in to my Tesco underground car park, the white walls and darker light level always put the auto lights on and the twitch left or right, maybe as if they are centring themselves for the adaptive side of things

I'll have LR look at it next time its in, if they can run a fault test on them Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

We are *supposed* to check that self levellers are working during the MOT test (where fitted) so how we would do that (I never have) with the vehicle stationary, I don't know. Question I had adaptive lights on a Focus once and they used to scan left and right on start up too. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
