Front Disc & Pad Size Upgrade

Hi

For the Discovery we supply quite a lot of upgrade kits to increase the braking force & efficiency, from what I can see this looks possible on the Freelander 2.2 but I can't see any posts from anyone who has done this?

Any ideas chaps?

The front discs are bigger on the 3.2 but the back plates, pads and calipers are all the same, so I think a kit of the larger discs, a new set of the same pads and the greater offset caliper carriers would do the trick.

Larger disc = greater braking force even with the same pads - it's down to leverage.

Anyone interested in a kit deal? Paul Redding

Brakes upgrade

Talking from many years experience upgrading just the fronts may upset the brake balance and stability handling electronics.
.
The 3.2 may have pressure limiter valves to the rear brakes calipers and different size rear calipers pistons.
.
I would suggest a deeper look at LR part numbers for a given 3.2 car with similar build date / vin to a chosen 2.2 before choosing the larger discs.
.
I actually hope that we have an expert on the forum who can do the investigation and provide a positive outcome.
Alex - are you reading this?

Kind regards from Fred
PS anybody out there got a LR passenger side step spare? I am looking for the top rubbers.
