England 2011 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Zermatt Silver

For me, we should keep our nose out. The Islamic states keep telling the west to stay out of their business , and this is a civil war, so keep us out. And just let em get on with it.

Leave to the Arab nations to police themselves and we (the west ) should only get involved when we are asked by the Arab nations.

Either way we will be dammed whatever we do or do not do. My11 freelander 2, xs, Manual, 18" hse sparkles, sidesteps, privacy, zermatt silver metallic, almond nutmeg alacantra, twin electric towbar

We aren't getting involved then. Big relief to many that we are staying out of it but I can't help thinking that to the allies in the west and opponents/potential opponents elsewhere, we look like a laughing stock. We appear weak.

I bet Argentinians are laughing their heads off for example Rolling with laughter (although we would get involved if they tried taking the Falklands again obviously). LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

MP's have listened to the country, don't know about you but our local guy emailed his constituents to poll the mood.

You appear to be a typical American 'gungho' type of guy Doc, not so much interested in the people but more in bombing the hell out of a country. I don't believe we showed weakness, more like the country showing we have a voice and a choice, we are independent and not prepared to always climb up America's arse.
The people of Syria do not want the west to target their country, we are not even welcomed by them.

All the MP's are waiting on is proof of who used the chemical weapons if possible, before commiting our forces and money we ain't got into another Iraq.
a) Was it the Syrian government?
b) Was it the rebels to make out it was the Syrian government?
c) Was it America or even the UK sanctioned use of chemical weapons to force the overthrow?
d) Did Russia/China have an involvement?

There are some dirty players in all countries governments and even dirtier goings on that the governments know nothing about. If you think America and the UK is doing this purely for humanitarian reasons you are wrong, it is also down to controlling the Middle East.
I'm not easily taken in by what any government spouts.

Don't get me wrong, Assad is a devious, nasty man and is guilty of killing hundreds of his people, it's just not our war........... yet.

I am just annoyed that he seems to be getting away with it Evil or Very Mad

Assuming in a hypothetical situation that there was compelling evidence that showed Assad was behind it or indeed he admitted it, what would happen? We know he isn't fazed by the diplomatic approach so would MP's change their views or is it best to just let the USA get on with it.

What about Russia? Does anyone think if such proof or an admission existed, they would still support Syria? LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Doc. Like you I'm not happy that they(whomever they are) are carrying out these despicable acts. However, the British public have had enough of spending huge, and I mean huge amounts of money, sending our troops to take part in a "police action" or whatever PC way they come up with to describe it, then seeing pictures of them being shipped back in boxes to be buried, and for what, come away when we've done our bit, and in the meantime expose us here to acts of terrorism. The result when we've left, back to status quo, and nothings changed. There are too many things in our own country we should put right, such as the ridiculous paymens to the EU, the court of human rights etc. who uphold madmens requests not to be extradited and cost us millions. Well we've all had enough and I for one am happy the views of the british voters thoughts have been taken into consideration, for now anyway. Rant over

"Assad is a devious, nasty man and is guilty of killing hundreds of his people"

Can you name one leader of any country whom you couldn't say that about? Devious and nasty are prerequisites for getting ahead in politics (or you get eaten alive by those who are d&n). Cameron and all PMs before him have been directly responsible for deaths of UK servicemen (don't mention Tony Bl£$r).

Korea, China, Russia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, etc etc are all systematically murdering their citizens but we don't hear a cry out to bomb them.

Falklands is totally different. That IS our concern and we must protect our own citizens.

If there is a direct threat to Britain then by all means take action. If not, keep out. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto
