LRE - no paper driving licence

I've got a LRE booked for Saturday at Coniston, and idiot that I am, I have forgotten the paper part of the driving licence. Just had a voicemail left by them where they expressly stated that I would need to bring both parts. Has anyone been in the same position and either convinced them to allow them to drive, or conversely been flatly refused?

Thanks

I forgot mine recently on a Kielder trip, got the neighbours to go into the house, photograph it and explained at the event what had happened and it was accepted from the image on my iPad screen.
Not sure with LRE events but I have had my details with me and they copied them at Coniston.

You will be asked to sign a disclaimer, part of which relates to the number of points on your licence (if any). Usually if you sign to say you have no points/no more than 6 points then you will be fine.
They should also check to make sure the photo id part of the licence is in date, it is amazing how many aren't and are risking a mega fine if stopped by plod.

Oh so if you had mud splashed on it they would tell you to get on your bike instead then? Laughing

Thanks all for your reassurances, guess we'll find out tomorrow. Neither of use have any points so hopefully it will be fine.

Only option for faxing/emailing would be for my mum to do it, but she's fractured her toe, so can't drive.

But LRE requirements for insurance stipulate you need a full licence, no more than a handful of points, iirc at least 21 years of age and a licence holder for three or more years, might be wrong. RichardK will know. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

There might be some better positioned to answer this than me...but I've done 3 LRE and I think only once we've been asked to show the paper bit..or even the plastic bit. You will be spending time on the public roads

Hope it doesn't cause you a problem - enjoy the session!
