Broken (again) but happy with LR assist !

Been driving around Cornwall, Devon and Somerset for the last two weeks and noticed yesterday on the way home a whining coming from the rear axle when accelerating over 30mph. Called LR assist today and the guy was with me in 25 minutes. He accompanied me on a short drive and agreed the noise shouldn't be there. He phoned Enterprise who offered me a Jaguar, but the LR guy realised I wanted a 4x4 and pushed and pushed and reminded Enterprise of their contractual obligations until Enterprise told him I would get a LR tomorrow. The LR guy wouldn't accept the "we'll give him a Jag tomorrow and change to a LR when one comes in" line.
Early diagnosis is bearings (hopefully covered by warranty) but I will wait and see but fair play to LR assist for an excellent service Thumbs Up

Enterprise are sh Censored
They cannot or seemingly do not have to offer a LR product.
I was given a manual Passat, complained that I requested an Auto, so they found an Auto......a Corsa FFS
Which reminds me I have been asked to go online and complete a questionnaire.

I didn't speak to Enterprise, the LRA guy did it in my presence. He wouldn't let it go until they agreed to what I wanted.
They told him they could get a RR sport from 30 miles away but when they called me back they said it was an Evoque so we'll see. Either way it's the right brand so I am happy...ish. _________________

The LRA guy spoke to Enterprise for me, I then had to drive to the dealer for 5pm where they would meet me with a car.
They rang in the meantime to confirm what my car was and the fact it was an auto, they turned up 30 minutes late in a manual Passat and promised to change it the morning after, Saturday came and they rang saying they had an auto for me, it was a Corsa. I put the phone down on them after it became obvious they were not interested in trying to get anything, stonewalled to submission.

If it breaks down again, I will pay the £5 a day damage waiver and take it off road Laughing

Only ever needed a LRA vehicle once, got a FL2, described as immaculate when it was delivered, good job the wife checked round it, big scrape along the two nearside doors.

I seem to have more trouble getting a courtesy cay from the dealer, very rarely is it an LR, have had a Merc, Mondeo, and a Censored Astra.

Last week we had a 12 plate XS with hardly a panel without a dent or scrape, the inside had ever seen a Hoover. When the wife collected she asked the receptionist for a seat cover, they said " don't worry your clothes are clean, I know she said, I want to keep them that way Censored p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

They have given me a new Evoque...prefer my Freelie.
While in the stealers spent ten minutes dribbling over the new RRS. Now, where's that lottery ticket ! _________________

Got my car back Very Happy
The diagnosis was the bearing in haldex had worn and was making a noise on acceleration and when cruising over 30mph. I first noticed a jet engine drone from the rear when driving at about 60mph, but after a few days the noise was present at 30mph. Very different to the turbo whistle. No warning lights, no reduced performance and no noticeable vibration. Covered by warranty which I negotiated an extension on for another year for free when I bought the car so will hopefully have minimal expense for another year.
The haldex is looking like the Achilles heel of my car, as it has broken twice in less than a year. _________________

Sounds lovely. If any good has come from this latest episode it has confirmed I don't want an Evoque. After the last hire Evoque I started to enjoy the modern interior and styling, as well as the brilliant auto box, but having lived with this one for 5 days I was pleased to get my car back. Nice to know a 45k Evoque rattles more than my 2010 Freelie ! _________________

I couldnt fault Enterprise last week when I had to call LR Assist out. LR guy spoke with dealer and Enterprise on the understanding that at some point that day I would take my FL2 to the dealer (diagnosed belt tensioner fault). Enterprise rang me asking what time I would be at dealer, we agreed a time and bang on time they turned up with a RRS HSE Luxury 6 months old - clean and tidy as though it had just come out of the showroom.

Only problem I had was having to give it back the next day when mine was fixed Big Cry

Incidentally quite surprised with the mpg, crap around town but on a run managed to get 37mpg Shocked
