The GS alloys are the only ones that haven't been updated. I thought they would have been by now, but I still quite like them.

Them alloys as you say have been used for over 5 years now,my last two freelander have them, and possibly my sept 63 plate may too,.....but may not as some dealers are supplying gs with the split 5 spoke new type, that have been fitted to the black and white ltd freelander.....just to make the gs look different to the s model.....as in previous posts LR have cocked up the gs spec.........nice old geezer Thumbs Up ...the one good thing with them alloys is cause they been about so long there's plenty on e bay,,so if u do damage one, they are a easy and cheap replacement I think. Current: Freelander 2 GS, Orkney Grey, Factory fit privacy glass, design pack and Clearview pack. Almond Leather ,rear spoiler, rear mudflaps.my13.

Gone:Freelander 2, GS, "61"

Spray grease, to the right of the engine bay on the linkages. Spray, work in, wipe. Repeat. Done! 2013 FL2 - Black Edition Auto

Yeah wicked little trick that one, makes huge difference ! I used a liquid chain lube not a waxy type lube. Thumbs Up

I was glad they didn't update the GS alloys..it meant my spare set with the winters on were still a perfect match for MY13 car.

Dunc, seen your thread over on the D3 forum, welcome aboard!!

It's fairly obviously to be honest, to the right of the block, get someone to wiggle the gear stick and you'll spot it. There's nothing else you could end up spraying, just need a decent quality spray grease or chain lube and some cloth to tidy up Thumbs Up 2013 FL2 - Black Edition Auto

Looks nice Thumbs Up

I like the GS wheels a simple design easy to clean. I just put Evoque style 5 19s on and they are a pig to clean. Selling my XS 17s if the member ever replies to my PMs. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

You've got a member not replying to pm's also, a new member posted on my Dog Guard FS thread, asking is it still for sale, within an hour I replied and sent him a PM, that was nearly a week ago. Time wasters. Rolling Eyes p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Oldgeezer - have read some of your posts and do hope sincerely that your nw car proves to be all you might hope for! Goodness knows you deserve a break as far as reliability of your car is concerned!

I have been curious and tempted by the logic of your stuff about fitting the extra earth cable to sort many of the problems you had with your previous car and it's electrical system(s) and I am tempted to fit one even though I have no problems just as something that might prevent future issues from developing and maybe - just maybe improve MPG if nowt else. Do you think you will be adding that extra earth to your new car or was it just a problem solver for you on the old one?
