Thanks again.

Pretty certain then that we'll be stopping at Bolton Abbey on the Friday for lunch, somewhere or the other.

Angel at Hetton is booked for Friday evening - the menu looks very appealing.

Malham Cove looks lovely, will have to see if there's time after the LRE on Saturday.

We're staying in Cartmel on the Sunday evening, and I have to be back in the office on Tuesday, so unfortunately no time for an extra night in Windermere.

So far...

The Dutch House is an interesting B&B, they are working towards an eco-organic type centre for arts and crafts. We did willow flower weaving which, despite being in a room full of woman, was quite good fun. Other half enjoyed it which was the main thing.

White Horse, excellent views, although a little hazy, nice amble back around to the car park.

Walk around Crayke is quite scenic and made me feel better about having a pud later.

Black Swan, very good, as one would expect with a Michelin star.

Durham Ox, excellent food, tasty and very well cooked. We think perhaps better than the Black Swan.

Bolton Abbey, what a lovely spot for lunch. We parked at the Pavillion and had a sandwich in the cafe.

Coniston Hotel, a bit too modern and business like, but great views from the room terrace.

Malham Cove, probably the highlight so far as regards scenery and setting. Absolutely gorgeous spot, with the cliff face in front of you and the stream running alongside you.

Angel Inn tonight, then clay pigeon shooting tomorrow and the LRE (if they allow us to drive, see other thread).

Thanks to everyone for their recommendations, we've thoroughly enjoyed our trip so far.
