Chipping the SD4

Hi,

Thinking about chipping the SD4 later in the year!

Has anyone had this done?

If so, what was the improvement in performance in acceleration?

Did it change the top end speed?

Did it tow any better?

The SD4 is a mighty fine car in standard format - but I always like to have things in reserve for a rainy day as they say! Wink

Thanks for your help.

SD4 HSE Fuji White (my car): sidesteps, door protection
Golf 2.0 tdi White (wife's car)
Triumph Stag (my 1975 V8 toy - 37,600 miles... Just started its 2nd restoration... had it since 1986)

Tiguan Summit (gone, but nice car)
Porsche Boxster (gone, it was too fast)
SLK (gone, did not like it - lost loads £s)
Discovery Cairngorm (gone,very tractor like)
+ loads of other cars

Run it on VPower (other enhanced diesels are available) give it 2-3 tanks to clear out the old and it will be much better and more responsive, chips are useful for the vanners but the SD4 is not a sports car and doesn't like being driven as such.
Better diesel gives mine a welcome boost that is noticeable Thumbs Up

If you do chip it, let us know how you get on, I did here that someone was getting 220bhp out of one?

Hi Taz,

I have used the better diesel and also so really cheap stuff from LeClerc in France, have to say did not really notice any difference. - whilst driving enthusiastically.

Like you I have noticed that a chip will up horsepower to 220 - heck my Porsche was 240 and that was petrol.

The new Q5 has some awesome power and from a diesel - who said the diesel was only for tractors?

Diesel cars seem to be coming of age!
