To Access or Not To Access - That's the Deadlock Question!

This morning my wireless driveway alarm (which chimes when people come down my drive) malfunctioned and stopped me opening the car with the keyfob as it's constant transmission was interfering with the signal from my keyfob.

Once I worked out (got Censored off with) the driveway alarm and turned it off, my key started to work again. Shocked

Prior to that though, Whilst trying both keyfobs without success, i tried to use the Emergency key in the passenger door, but this didn't work, i took the cover off and inserted it into the door but it would not twist.

When the keyfobs started to work, I tried the key again but without the car been deadlocked (one keyfob click) and they unlocked the car fine.

So I have spoken to my dealer to check this is correct as at the moment if my car is deadlocked and the keyfobs fail there is no way to get into the car.

He is looking further into it, but, said if the key did work when deadlocked you could ram something in instead and use that instead.

I though the idea was to stop people opening it from the inside if they smashed the window, not from the outside with the cars key Shocked Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

odd indeed............................

Maybe the solution is in seeing into the future, so if you know in advance your keyfob is going to stop working you should not deadlock the car Rolling with laughter
