Dash lights cutting in and out

We recently had a problem with the electric air con and engine cooling fans not working but that was traced back to a broken pulse cable into the fan control module that sits just behind the radiator.
But since that was fixed we have a weird problem on hot days ie above 24C
Driving along and there is a beep and all the dash light go out then come back on in the sequence that you get when starting the car.
This happens every 5 minutes or so but the car behaves normally and everything is working normally even though no dashboard.
I thought it might be a bad earth but that would happen regardless of outside temp so I am stumped!
Any ideas? Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?

there are some threads on here about a cable connector situated in the footwell of the passenger side. When people are pressing their feet in the footwell the connector becomes un-attached turning the dash off. Might be that the connector is loose and the heat is causing it to expand/disconnect the dash?

Or it might be something completely different! Its worth checking. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Have been down in Cornwall for the heat wave and low and behold the problem started again after the car has been stood in the sun (30C) for a few hours.
I had already reseated the two fuses in the passenger footwell fuse box that related to the dash as well as the main cable connector so was at a bit of a loss.
However after having another think I was convinced it was heat related and the problem was in the fuse box area.
So on next returning to the car I opened all the windows using the key fob and let the initial heat escape. Then started the engine with the AC on auto and then switched on the footwell directional button to direct the cool air down and guess what no further problems.
Have now tried this on three occasions when car has stood in outside temps of 30C and have not had a repeat of the problem.
I guess it is something I will have to live with or perhaps consider moving to Iceland?
By the way if anyone fancies staying in an excellent B&B near Gwithian (surfing beach) that involves a bit of green laneing to get to it have a look at www.nanterrowfarm.co.uk - you will not be disappointed. Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?
