Over the last two weeks my old FL2's fuel consumption has increased by 20%.

I used to get 35mpg normal mixed driving now it's down to 28mpg as per OBC.

Didn't take much effort to work out why - it's SWIMBO that's driving it now after we swapped cars and I upgraded.

Her friend recently commented on how she's slowed down a lot since moving to Scotland 9 years ago. I think not quite enough yet

Oh well...

She doesn't use aircon at all, doesn't like it. It's the full on pedal to the floor driving that does it.... Well that and mostly town driving.

I used to get her to equate fuel saving in terms of free pints of cider, but she cut that out. I've just reverted to Victor mode as I get older

Didn't think my "new" Disco would get better mpg than the FL2 but it does if you drive it right (like Victor Meldrew)

Besides it's still -5 and snowing up here in the North

Have you any warning lights up in the disply? If the ERG vaulve is stivking or DPF full the you will have some lack of power and higher fuel consuption

Seriously folks this is all down to her heavy boots around town, there's nothing wrong with the car at all. I could jump in the car tomorrow and get 35 mpg easy and 40 if on a long run just bimbling along and anticipating traffic conditions.

It's just an interesting view on how different driving styles have a big impact on mpg.

She had a CRV auto before this and she's driving the FL2 like the auto where you had to rev it hard (only 4 speed) to get it shifting.

Once she's used to 6 manual gears I'm sure it will improve.

Sh'es getting nowhere near my D3, she'll have that in the teens for mpg

and no DPF fitted it's an 07MY

Does the Egr valve increase consumptions really?
I don't have any warning alert, but consumptions are very very high....

I'm near 115.000 km, and it isnt never cleaned, but the fuel consumptions are very high for me.
