Reading this article makes me think that it is some of the filler that papers had to have ready in case "the birth of the century" didn't happen - as indeed it didn't!

I took the view at 17 years and 364 days that all politicians of any party had only 4 things in their brain

2.Make sure you get as much money by whatever means you can

3. Leave as big a mess as you /your party can do in the time allotted,so by the time the next lot figure it out you have retired,living off the big fat pension you awarded yourself

4. Done a Runner to the E.U to get even more money (better still as they seem not to keep ANY records !!)
