Fuel consumption after 1st service?

Anyone noticed much of a change in fuel consumption of the TD4 manual after the 1st service? I have just had the 1st service (£330 all in) and before the service I was never getting better than 33.9 MPG and that was with the aircon off, but since the service its shot up to 41MPG and even 43 at a steady 50 mile a hour .I am having trouble believing its improved so much and wonder if its just a fuel computer upgrade that makes you feel better? Or it’s really getting nearer to the stated consumption.

Anyone else had the same thing??

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Stornoway Grey

I had my first service done yesterday, so only done 40 miles so far. Currently averaging 36mpg on the computer but that has been mostly country lanes.

I will let you know more in a couple of weeks. I normally get about 500 miles on a full tank (around 34.5mpg) with the range indicator showing about 20 miles left.

GS TD4 Manual.

Note service was £337 and that was after a discount. I did get a free curtesy car a GS TD4 Manual in Sumatra Black with full body kit and 19inch alloys, very nice although the steering was noticably heavier.
