Freelanders sold

Sold the FL2 for a 325d m sport.

The final straw was when the HDC fault kept coming up again on the display. Nice car but to many faults on the early models, I also felt the engine was getting rougher as it got more miles on.

Sorry to hear that Tash.

Wish you all the best with the new car, but its a strange swap though....why go from a 4x4 to a saloon?

Now driving wise I know the 325 will make you extremely happy and I loved my BMW for that fact alone, and the engines are great.

So why did you go for a Land Rover Whistle 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc.

That was years ago.....but also I've had a few 5 series on rental for a few weeks at a time and loved driving them, but I need a to a 4x4 for my job, and the X3 is just plain fugly and like the X5 is for the road only.

Different circumstances means different cars, but still thinking about getting an E46 M3 for the weekends Thumbs Up

Like LR-minds think alike then Laughing My last drive was a 3-series Touring, which was great to drive, but the rear springs kept breaking Whistle - guess the changed life style needed a more practical (4x4) drive but the BMW alternative just didnt match up to the Freelander Thumbs Up Just for the record the X5 here in Norway costs almost twice the price of a FL2/X3 Shocked 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Gave into the wife, had a FL1 06 06 TD4 and hated it!!!!!!!!!!needed new drive shafts at 3K miles. Changed from a 325 sport after I got to opt out of the company car scheme and bought my own car therefore her car had always been something I looked forward to driving.

Went for the FL2 because the wife likes the high driving position, image etc but it just had to many faults and a noisey engine for me..so back to the BMW's.

Faults on FL2:

Rear parking sensors volume low - fixed with patch
Rear sensors faulty, constant tone - fixed by cleaning connection
Faulty door mirror -fixed with new mirror
Non starting - not fixed
HDC fault -not fixed
Trip reset - not fixed
Faulty computer display screen - fixed but dash damaged
Radio freezing - fixed,
Gear shift bearing faulty - fixed after 2 days and damage handbrake and console

Annoying things

Covers on 12V adapters kept going astray, not fixed to console like german cars
Rubber bungs in doors and bonnet fell off when washing
Seatbelt cover on B pillar wearing away
