Compact and bridge cameras have their place and uses. I wouldn't dream of taking my dslr caving or body boarding but the Canon D10 I also use shrugs off that kind of thing. It's all about using the right tool for the job. |

One lens worth considering is the Tamron 17-50 Di II f/2.8
