Scotland 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Santorini Black

OK - I used the chip repair kit recently purchased and followed the instructions to the letter. unfortunately it was quite messy, with the resin going everywhere, and the supplied syringe sucked out most of the resin when the vacuum was applied leaving not a lot over the chip in the windscreen. After leaving the vehicle for the recommended times to get any air out of the resin it was hard to remove the syringe/housing from the screen as the supplied sticky pad was stuck luck $%^& to the proverbial blanket. Anyway...

To cut a long story short the whole exercise was a waste of time (and fortunately not a lot of money), as the chip is still visible in the screen. It may be that the chip was too small for an effective repair (less than 2mm), I don't know. But I would not recommend this to any forum member.

footnote: I went back too my old favorite technique for chip repairs of jewelers rouge and elbow grease and with a lot of work the chip is almost invisible!

England 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black

I had several small chips. I was going to let the windscreen crack during next winter, but a large chip came and finished the job. Now I've got a new windscreen. Thumbs Up

IanH,
Sounds like you had as much look as I did Laughing We live & learn. I think it's just down to the kits being poor. I won't be trying that again Laughing Landy has now gone.
