United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Stornoway Grey
Noise when pulling away

Hi guys Just taken delivery of new FL2 GS Auto and mine does the same thing. A metallic noise and a slight vibration through the accelaretor pedal when reaching about 5mph. This only happens once on pulling away, if I switch the engine off and restart it happens again. The noise can vary in intensity and sometimes no noise at all.

I notice that a number of members have had the same thing happen has anybody effected a cure or even found out what it is.

Should I be concerned or just leave it?

Would appreciate any feedback, thanks Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto with Winter Pack, Stornaway Grey, Ebony, Grey Mirror Caps. Removable towbar with 13 pin Electrics

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Stornoway Grey

Hi
The only post I made regarding a noise when pulling away was on the following thread http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic1586.html?highlight=
This was definitely the self test of the ABS which occurs when first starting after the engine has been started. It usually can be felt at around 3 to 4 mph.
I never experienced a noise when pulling away from a standing start when the engine had been running for some time.
I can't really help any further as I no longer drive a Freelander 2. The FL2 was the start of my particular case of the 'Green Oval Disease'. I upgraded to a D3 about 3 months ago. The D3 has the same ABS test noise also.
Hope this is of help. Enjoy the FL2
