Just had a browse around the site

http://www.landrovergear.com/gb/clothing/l...679_p.html
Very nice by the looks of it, but as most merchandise it's overpriced at £175

http://www.landrovergear.com/gb/gifts__acc...648_p.html
Nice design, missing from my drinks cupboard, but £12 for a mug Shocked

http://www.landrovergear.com/gb/luggage_an...657_p.html
Need a new wallet, but need money to put in it, and at £80 that's not possible Shocked

Previously I bought things, a sunglasses holder been one of them Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Hi Dan
£225 for a camp looking waterproof jacket Shocked I would but a Berghaus or North Face - cheaper and better looking.
£200 for a print of Steve McQueen in a cheap frame Rolling Eyes

Most of the mens clothing range looks feminine and not for the rugged outdoors types, but perhaps it's aimed at the couple in the Freelander TV ad demographic ?

It would be good to see mugs priced about a fiver and Polo shirts at around £25, but the designs and branding are too subtle IMO. If I want a LR polo shirt, I want a LR logo on the outside.

So in summary, prices way out of average owners price range, and clothing designs poor. Why not brand to each model as well, with a range of FL shirts & mugs and the same in RR or Defender ?

Maybe a free pen or key ring with each service would be a nice touch, and the value of the gift could rise for loyal customers... Ist service key ring, 2nd service pen, 3rd service RR sport Whistle _________________

Hi Dan,

1, what are you're thoughts on the current range? (link below of current range)
Initial thoughts are they are over priced

2, Have you purchased any of the new range?
No

3, Would you purchase any of the new range, if not why?
To expensive for what they are

4, Have you purchased any Land Rover Gear/Merchandise in the past?
No

5, What would you like to see Land Rover Gear do in the future with their products?
Products are good, its purely the price that will put people off

1) Boring
2) No
3) No it's too dear
4) No
5) Reduce their prices to something more sensible and widen its range of clothing. £ for £ there is better quality merchandise out there, be more competitive.

Many people like to identify with their brand choices, but the silly prices car dealers charge put most people off. I'm sure if they charged prices similar to the market generally, they would sell much more branded stuff. 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

Land Rover Gear

Hi Dan,

I think that like so many of the forum members that even though its all nice looking stuff its badly overpriced.

I have had some of the stuff from the Gear range as freebies from the dealers when buying cars and it is well made and

very durable but its just too bloody expensive.

On a more positive note, Thanks for the great service you provided in getting the discs for my Supercharged Vogue and the

rearlight for my wifes Freelander down to me in record time and at a fantastic price.

Mark.

Hey guys, why duck the issue? Tell it like it is Whistle

Bet he's sorry he asked!

It would be nice to think anything would come from the universal "over-priced" comments, but I'm not holding my breath. Twisted Evil Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

...

1, what are you're thoughts on the current range? Clearly good quality (seen some items at the dealer's and the items I looked at were very nice) but much of the pricing is just beyond the top end of pricing I'd expect to see. (if you get my drift... Confused ). I am disappointed that LR dropped the LRO2214 watch, which I would have bought...

2, Have you purchased any of the new range? No

3, Would you purchase any of the new range, if not why? I would be interested in Land Rover Hip Wallet but not at £80... I think I will buy Land Rover Logo Mug at £12 -- that's only a couple of quid over my comfort price...

4, Have you purchased any Land Rover Gear/Merchandise in the past? Yes. Key rings.

5, What would you like to see Land Rover Gear do in the future with their products?
a) Liaise with the LR dealerships to see what people actually want to buy.
b) LR owners are generally a loyal bunch and (if they're like me) they'll have the keyrings, perhaps the toys for their kids etc but it's then a big jump from the very small range of affordable items to the frankly very expensive leather holdalls, luggage, pricey jackets etc. I WANT to buy LR stuff (LR02214 being an example) but there's not enough affordable stuff... I couldn't justify (even to MYSELF and that's usually easy Thumbs Up ) paying hundreds of pounds on 'gear' ... The watch, tie, belt, stickers/badges, tax disc holders etc etc etc I believe would be snapped up. There you go. My 2p's worth...

Cheers!

1, Don't do all that overpriced leather luggage stuff. Quite like the t-shirts.

2, No. Don't need the latest stuff at those prices.

3, Only when it's going cheap at some of the Land Rover shows in a year or two.

4, Yes. A teddy bear or two. T-shirts - cheap at Land Rover shows. Land Rover buff - I got free. Bought a LR fleece gilet years ago, never worn it but it was cheap at a Land Rover show.

5, I'm sure it's good quality but I'm not paying a premium to have a LR logo on it. There's already good quality stuff out there.

So the message from me is - I'll wait till it's cheap at a Land Rover show!
