Scotland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Bali Blue
Mantec Tank Guard Rear Mounting Brackets Wanted.

After the last Green Road Run and getting some scores along the bottom of the Fuel tank I reckoned a set of second hand Mantec tank & sump guards would be the way forward.

The sump guard is now fitted but the tank guard I bought was advertised with no attachments & I reckoned could fabricate a couple of rear brackets but before I do I thought I would just check that no-one has a couple of spares anywhere I could buy off them?

Another quick thought - Does anyone know if Mantec sell mounting kits as separate spares ?

Thanks!

They do indeed sell the kits and sometimes will give you a discount if you ask for some stickers to be thrown in like i did Smile Mine are on the sump guard though not the car Very Happy FL2 work pilot!

If you do buy new mounts from Mantec take some measurements so that you can bend them back to the original profile when you "damage" them.

Dropping the car a couple of feet onto the tank guard will damage the brackets, the guard will save the tank, but it will foul the exhaust.
Copper grease the bolts when you fit it, as you will be taking it off again and again, it acts as a scoop especially in reverse, fills with mud, the exhaust bakes the mud, and a jet wash will not clear the solid lumps of baked clay Sad Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
