Normally the pins don't fully unwind on the thread to the point that they fully clear and allow the calliper to free.

No special tools required, basically it's the same set up as the Ford SMAX p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

You just unscrew the caliper guide pins and withdraw. I recall you need a 7mm allen key to fit them - not expensive but worth checking as many sets only have 6 & 8mm.

Agreed, it's a 7mm Allen. I use a 3/8" socket set from half ores for these things.
