Can anyone tell me how to remove the 2 caliper pins that hold the front caliper onto the brake body? Is there a special tool required?
Got the new pads, did the rears in about 15 minutes a corner but cant get these pins out!!

Cheers I had seen this one but its for the rears which are easy......

Normally the pins don't fully unwind on the thread to the point that they fully clear and allow the calliper to free.

You need to keep unwinding them and wiggling the Allen key while you pull it outwards. It should keep sliding out. You can also get a screwdriver in to where the tread of the pin is and lever it outwards too. It basically needs to be flush with the rubber it sits in for it to clear.

I've always figured its a safety feature in case it unthreaded of its own accord.

Thanks for the replies.......I'm still unsure.
Do I insert the allen key into the pin to unwind it or am I missing something?
Is there a LR tool required to remove these pins?

Did the rears in 15 mins, I suppose its like anything, once you see the light its an easy job!!

No special tools required, basically it's the same set up as the Ford SMAX p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

You just unscrew the caliper guide pins and withdraw. I recall you need a 7mm allen key to fit them - not expensive but worth checking as many sets only have 6 & 8mm.

Agreed, it's a 7mm Allen. I use a 3/8" socket set from half ores for these things.

The Allen key goes into the end of the pin and you just unscrew it the sane way you would any normal bolt or nut
