Hope it all goes well for you and is sorted quickly. What mileage had it done when you bought it?

It's an XS and has done just over 70k miles on an 07 plate.
I'm really happy with the car and how it drives, but this has taken the shine off a wee bit. Once it's fixed though I won't have to worry about anything for a while (i hope).

I bought my Freelander 2 XS (57)there 3 years ago at 52,000 miles. Car has been super. Sailed through its MOTs and all I have bought is a set of front pads and a new set of tyres. I found the staff pretty reasonable and friendly...although I never had to go back with any faults so can't comment on aftersales. But they did seem to sell me a very good car. Contrast that to this weekend. I was having a look at new cars at Arnold Clarke at the weekend in Inverness. On arrival I said I just wanted a look around to see if anything took my fancy, the salesman continued to pester me and follow me round and then directed me to a car I thought might be ok. I had a look at it and he said 'how about it then?'. And I said, I'd need to see how it drives first, I'm not sure. And he said that they woudn't do that until I 'committed to the deal'. Just a nightmare of a boy really. There was a carry on about the trade in as well. How much do you want for your car-I say, I dunno you tell me what you'll give me for a trade in as what I say will make no difference to what you offer. So he says I'll only offer you 'book'. But he woudn't tell me what that was. Agggghh! Then I said I was off to Hawco across the road...end of conversation. Certainly none of that hassle at Stratsone Perth...or any other garage in Inverness I went to on Saturday! Rant over!
