United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Santorini Black

google translation:-

Land Rover Freelander-back: flies from the roof
Land Rover calls in Germany are currently about 1,200 current Freelander because of a problem with the glass roof, as a corporate officer compared to auto-motor-and-sport.de confirmed.

For vehicles that between November 2006 and January 2008 were produced, under certain circumstances, there is a low risk that the glass roof when closing or blocking one side can be raised. With strong vertical force - such as by a strong gust of wind - could eventually the glass roof of the body resolved.

In the workshop, two additional security holders fitted and the management mechanism of the glass roof slightly modified. The service work should be about half an hour.

Land Rover is all short-term customers in writing. The KBA is also informed. World-wide, about 44,000 cars recalled.
Land rover also says cars with tow-bars will not be recalled in the hope that the sunroof flies off and severely damages the caravan the freelander is towing

Not sure the horse wants a sunroof in the face either! 07 Freelander 2 TD4SE Tambora Flame, side steps, privacy glass, mud flaps, boot liner and a tow bar. Ok it's the Wifes but she lets me drive it occasionally - if I've been good!

Germany 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey

Hi Guys, do not joke, be serious. The sun-roof issue is very serious as the German Federal Automotive Security Board has instructed Landrover to call back all German registered Freelander 2 with fitted sunroof to check the sunroof-mechanism and to fit the security clips.
So I would advise that everybody of you who has a sunroof to contact your dealer. The security clips are available, and fitting takes 30 minutes.

So rush!

Don't rush there too fast as your roof may fly off , but yes go there as soon as possible. I advise not to travel to the dealers on a bank holiday weekend as you will get stuck behind loads of ca Censored vans on the journey.

Just spoke with LR Customer Services

I have to take my car in to have it fixed

I have spoken to the dealer and he is checking to see if mine has had it done........ If it has i don't know about it, as far as i know they have done something to the water drains and thats it.

I shall let you know if this is a different fix Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Joking aside I will check with my dealer. I'm assuming that the 'NOT' in the details was a translation glitch. I doubt LR really want to damage your caravan -

Idea unless the top gear team snuck into the LR offices.... 07 Freelander 2 TD4SE Tambora Flame, side steps, privacy glass, mud flaps, boot liner and a tow bar. Ok it's the Wifes but she lets me drive it occasionally - if I've been good!
