Wales 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Santorini Black

I had some rodents in the garage and garden in my previous house.
Having a stream at the bottom of the garden didn't help.
Rat poison and 6 mouse traps with chocolate got rid of them.
I'm not a fan of rat poison but there was no other solution Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Rat poison in the house generally isn't a good idea, the little bastards will find the most hard to get to place (in walls/floors/ceiling) and when they croak and start to smell you'll end up ripping the place apart whilst they look on from the big cheese wheel in the sky sniggering!

Forget cats and snakes, get a Jack Russell the best rodent killing machine on the planet.
The best thing to use in traps is bacon rind, they can't resist it and they have to really tug at it to get it away from the trap.

We had a mouse in the kitchen once and didn't 'twig' for a few weeks that the black bits were mouse poo, you see we also like long grain black rice and thought it was spillage Embarassed

Anyhow I didn't want to kill it and gave it every opportunity to b Censored r off but in the end it was a spring trap and chocolate that ended it for him, felt quite sad when I saw him in the morning Sad

pest chaps been, no sign of the rodent chewing the rag i shoved in the hole, or the mouse traps going off

so I showed him the chewed bits and he agree the single poo i found was in deed a rat

so he has placed a trap down and put a few things of poison down also

Im going to have to investigate the loft area tonight as he decided to turn up at 8am when i was getting the kids ready to go to school so didn't have the time to check up there, but it would have had to dig through a cavity of wall insulation to get up there

really hoping the bloody thing doesn't come back and if it does the thing takes a liking to the peanut butter on the trap and not the poison, if it likes the poison it goes out of the house to die as i believe the stench is unbearable and i'll be knock holes walls to locate it

then ill be digging up the area out side to find were and how it got access to the cavity Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Couple of years back a relative had the same issue, two new plastic Washing Machine pipes gnawed through, we got a pest professional in who baited the area. A further 12 months on we fitted a new kitchen an pulled down the ceiling as part of the refit, the dried out remains of the culprit fell to the floor, if you have air bricks around the property inspect them to make sure they are not damaged, we found that her son and his friends had broken a couple and that was the ingress point ! 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership
