Mark of a good insurance is not how cheap they are, it's how they perform when you need them. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

How can you get a bill for 」4600 for sorting out a wrong fuel problem? I would have thought that after emptying the tank the worst that could of happened would have been a wrecked injector pump and you couldn't have driven it that far as it stopped as soon as petrol hit the injectors! 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

The size of the bill isn't really the issue i just wanted it sorting by a Land Rover Dealer as Ive just bought the car and its going to be a keeper. My Brother in Law is an LR Mechanic and he said if it been driven till its stopped it will need new injectors as they frequently fail after petrol contamination as do the pumps even if they initially show no sign of damage. So as i was covered I had the job done properly with no worries about any failure in the fuel system down the line. It could have gone to an LV garage and they could have flushed put new filters in and got it started but then there was potential for problems down the line. Like I said the issue here is that LV paid the bill without quibbling and they handled themselves excellently throughout. Ive never gone with bargain basement Insurance quotes and never will. |

I wasn't questioning LV's response or your insistence on going to a LR dealer (I have two cars, house insurance and travel insurance with LV and no complaints) I was just wondering how even a LR dealer could create a bill that large for 4 injectors and a pump? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

LR replace just about everything that has fuel running through it except for the tank itself, fuel pump in the tank, lines, filters HP pump, injectors.

Part of the problem is one pump having half a dozen different nozzles for diesel and petrol, premium, standard, etc instead of one pump for each fuel type.
